Visitors, please get your sponsoring member to seek approval from the walk leader first, and then purchase a visitor voucher, prior to attending the walk. Members can then add the sponsored visitor to a walk via https://perthbushwalkers.asn.au/for-members/activities/upcoming-activities.
During our Bushwalking Season (March to November)
A visitor may attend up to 3 walks as a guest of a member by purchasing a visitor voucher for each walk, which provides the visitor with one-off insurance to cover each walk.
Visitors must be 'sponsored' by a member, who is responsible for the visitor with respect to the visitor's ability to complete the walk. It is assumed that the visitor (and their level of fitness/experience) is already known to a current club member/sponsor. Visitors must have purchased a visitors voucher to be able to join a Club activity and the sponsoring member must accompany the Visitor on each activity. To help manage walks, the intention is that only one visitor can be sponsored per walk, unless the leader agrees otherwise. Members can add the sponsored visitor to a walk via https://perthbushwalkers.asn.au/for-members/activities/upcoming-activities.
The member/sponsor must notify and seek approval from the walk leader beforehand, that they are bringing a visitor. It is the leader's decision to accept a visitor(s) or not. Once approved, the member/sponsor can register the visitor via the walk registration page.
If a visitor wishes to count their visitor walk as an 'Intro walk' as well, the sponsoring member will need to contact both the walk leader and the Introductory Walks Coordinator (pbwmembers@yahoo.com.au) in advance of the walk, as their approval is required.
During our 'summer season' (December to March)
There are walks offered during the summer months which are not recognised as part of our bushwalking program.
Visitors may purchase one visitor's voucher and then attend up to 3 'Summer season' walks (using the same voucher) during the period December to February/March as a guest of a member.
Visitors must still be 'sponsored' by a member, who is responsible for the visitor with respect to the visitor's ability to complete the walk. Visitors must have purchased a visitor voucher to be able to join a Club activity, and the sponsoring member must accompany the visitor on each activity.
Members can add the sponsored visitor to a walk via https://perthbushwalkers.asn.au/for-members/activities/upcoming-activities (Note to members, while visitors can attend up to 3 summer walks for each visitor voucher, our system will only allow you to add a visitor once. Please contact pbwwebsite@gmail.com if you wish to add a visitor to a subsequent walk, and this will be done for you).
The member/sponsor must notify and seek approval from the walk leader beforehand that they are bringing a visitor. It is the leader's choice to accept a visitor or not.
In addition, any Summer Season walk is not eligible as an 'Intro walk'. When the bushwalking season commences in March those who wish to become a member should purchase an Introductory walks voucher and contact the Introductory Walks Coordinator at pbwmembers@yahoo.com
